Catherine and I were in Los Angeles at the end of 1986 for the Jerry Slocum puzzle party. At the top-right of my photo (above) would be the location of Pacific Palisades. It was there that Fabian Lewkowicz of Santa Monica Closeup captured the devastating aftermath of the fire:
