Rencontre East |
This coastal village lies on Fortune Bay on the south shore of Newfoundland. Rencontre East ("Rencounter" in local dialect) has
no road access and there are no cars here: The (less than 200) residents use their feet, bicycles, or ATVs for getting around. Outsider access is by ferry.
We were here on 12 August 2003: Here is our arrival at the dock. Yes, I know: There’s a truck in the photo... Trucks are not cars. 😛
I bought one CD while there: "Tribute to Home" by The Rencontre Boys. You play what you know!
